Getting! away! from! del.icio.us!

Having been acquired by Yahoo!, it is most probable that one day logging onto del.icio.us will require a Yahoo! ID, which I will certainly not get until their TOS is less than a few lines and their privacy policy is bearable.

I decided to grab Rubric, which is used by de.lirio.us and now I've got a personal bookmark manager, avslicious, running on a private server.

Social, no. Ad-free, free, and much nicer, yes.

Dear Customer,

We've noticed that many customers who've purchased albums by Various

Zoids

Have a look at Ishkur's Guide to Electronic music. Not that I agree with all the classifications, or that I would even have been aware of all those niches, but it's a lot of fun. What amazes me is that the guy actually picked Zoids as an example of a genre he calls "video game music" (video games my ass, most of it was made on a C=64, a real, living, breathing, fully-fledged computer s.o.b.). Why am I ecstatic? Well, Zoids is one of the most underrated of C=64 tunes (most remixes concentrate on the ones with a beat), but it is really in my real top-5. (Download as SID file.) I once said (well, more than once), that if I ever get married, my wedding march for entering the church is the Imperial March and the for leaving, it will be the theme from Zoids as an orchestral arrangement. (Not that I actually ever played Zoids. I missed the manual.)

Love Songs of Computer Science; Lessig shoots back

While rummaging through my old files, I spotted the CD cover art for The Turing Machine's debut album.

I am a bit slow to react, Lessig's reply to a recent Politech post I told about earlier having been published a good three days ago. But for completeness' sake, here it is.
