Dit-ta-dit-ta-dit Ins-pec-tor Gad-get.

Don't everyone feel the lust for personal electronics? I am not into the gimmicky stuff that is not interoperable, needs its own custom batteries, and hasn't a proven track record. But, I feel the urge of getting the following objects in my possession: (1) Vestax Handy Trax is a portable vinyl player that runs on batteries and has a line out. (2) To help with my Geocaching hobby, I need a new GPS with an electronic compass; the last dozen meters are a pain without one. I'd like a Garmin eTrex Vista. (3) A pair of Genelecs would be nice. Probably from the lower end of their line. (4) Finally, there's the question of a digicam. I would like something with an Ixus form factor; however, such a beast does not seem to exist if I require it to accept AA NiMH cells. Probably I need to settle on Canon PowerShot A80.

Buying them all would of course set me back to the tune of 1800 euros, so probably for the time being I need just to drool and watch.
